Jeb Burton posted his career best finish on the NASCAR Trucks Series, but it’s clear the rookie wants more. Burton finished eighth at Charlotte Motor Speedway May 18 in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race. “I’m ready to get to Dover (his next stop). I wish we could find a sponsor. I’ve been running real good. It just gets kind of frustrating, knowing I’ve only got one more race left,” Burton said. “I think everybody knows I can drive now, and that was a goal, getting out there,” Burton said. “We’ve done everything we want to do every race, besides one. We finished in the top 15 (except for Kansas). I’ve gotten so much better in the last year and a half as a driver, mentally and physically,” Burton said. Burton sees improvement across the board. “I’ve got a whole lot more confidence. I know what I need in the race car, and my head’s in it more. I’m really dedicated to it, thinking a lot more positive now about things,” Burton said. Dover looms, the Monster Mile. “The goal is a top ten at Dover,” said Burton, who plans to take the same truck to Dover that the team used in Nashville. Burton, who has landed local sponsorship with Common Grounds, also plans for selected regional late model appearances at Motor Mile, South Boston and Ace speedways.
